The bulk of the discussion has centered around the nation's top teams that are fighting for a spot in the expanded 12-team playoff. Teams like No. 4 Penn State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 9 Miami and No. 12 Boise State rank far behind other top teams out of the SEC in that metric.
