Haiti wonders what’s next as gang violence surges and UN peacekeeping mission flops1. A Play-Doh pizza delivery scooter your kiddo will absolutely beg you to play with *all* day! It's mobile, comes with 10 cans of color, and a bunch of accessories. It *might* require you to do some cleanup around the house (it is definitely going to be annoying in that sense) but, on the bright side, it's not noisy! Promising review: "No words other than CUTE! Another great gift I bought for my granddaughter. She loves mobility and loves Play-Doh. What a great combination." — Roger Lemley Get it from Amazon for $74.99 . 2. A Magna-Tiles set that'll surely be a big hit with any budding architect. They can use it to build all kinds of cool 3D structures, then knock 'em down and start again the next day. The set comes with translucent magnetic pieces to build 3D creations all day. Recommended for ages 3 and up. My 2.5-year-old is a BIG fan of Magna-Tiles and, honestly, so am I. They're really fun to play with! There's so much you can build with them! You can choose to follow the guidebooks that come with the sets or go rogue and make your own masterpiece. We're also loving the new glittery Magna-Tiles castle (it comes with a dragon! My favorite thing about them is how easy they are to clean up. While we *also* love Lego, they are a serious pain to clean. The Magna-Tiles take seconds to clean up because you can quickly stack them all magnetically then put them away. I'm aiming to make my life even EASIER by getting this Magna-Tile storage bin (which also comes with a cool play mat). Promising reviews: "These magnets are great for independent toddler play! My 3-year-old loves building and creating with these. I suggest you buy a larger set. We have a set with over 100 pieces, but I bought this set as a Christmas gift! He is always wishing he had more pieces to finish his masterpieces." — Kayla M Get it from Amazon for $49.99 for a 32-piece set or $110.99 for a 100-piece set. 3. Promising review: " Got my toddler aged son this train set and he loved it so much that we have bought others as gifts for our friend’s kids. Great price for the amount of pieces that it comes with, and I love that you can make basic tracks for younger kids or more complex ones for older kids to play with. It also comes with lots of accessories to add to hours of imaginative play. Wood is great quality and smooth and all of the pieces fit together easily. It’s definitely a set that will last a long time and is worth the investment." — Megan P Get it from Amazon for $69.99 . 4. A set of sensory tubes that make a popping sound when pulled and a crunching sound when they're pushed back together — it'll delight kids of all ages and annoy most adults (haha). Pick your battles — would you rather whining kids or entertained ones who aren't pestering you so you can unload the dishwasher real quick? I'd choose the latter. My kids have these sensory tubes and I often find myself absentmindedly playing with them. They're very satisfying to push and pull, despite the somewhat annoying sound they make. Both my toddler and my baby love them! My daughter chews on them (that's fine, right?) and my son loves wiggling them around like worms. They're a simple toy that gets the job done. Promising review: "My toddler daughter is gonna love these tubes, but grandpa is gonna be annoyed by the noise. Haha. Good quality toy." — Sheena Get a set of eight from Amazon for $9.99 (available in three sizes). 5. A yodeling pickle I can't even type about without giggling — I mean, it's a pickle that shouts "yodel-ey-eee-hooo!" It needs zero explanation as to why it's a perfect stocking stuffer — it just is. 10/10, no critiques. Promising review: "He's no average yodeler, he's 'the' yodeler, the teacher of all yodelers. He's the yodel master. And, he is my best friend. I'm beyond fortunate to have met him. I now share my home with him. You can only hope that your yodeling pickle is half as good as mine. And if not, I'm not sharing — he's mine, all mine. Hear that? So, how did my yodeling pickle and I meet? My sister gave him to me for my 23rd birthday. I was so excited, I started crying, but the streams flowing down my cheeks were tears of joy. You know what my pickle did for me next? You'll never believe it. He serenaded me with a yodel birthday song — Yodel-Aey-Eee-Ooooooo. The way those five syllables rolled off his tiny pickle tongue was pure bliss to my ears. It was divine. The voice of my yodeling pickle is sweet as honey. " — B & J Get it from Amazon for $12.09 . 6. He’s got a good vocabulary, but we’re working with him to encourage more and more words. His doctor recommended teaching him animals and the sound they make, so this is great to add to what we’re already doing. Great toy that is fun and also teaches. They learn through repetition — and this was just what I was looking for! I also love that this toy will grow with him. He using the name/sound mode right now, but is also has a mode that gives facts for when he’s older and also has Spanish! 10/10 recommend." — Jessica Grace Get it from Amazon for $12.97 and check out the animal version here . 9. The Cross River State governor Senator Bassey Otu says everyone has to be carried along in the economic, social, and cultural prosperity in the world. Otu made the call during the flagged off of the 2024 Carnival Calabar which has the theme “Our Shared Prosperity”. According to the governor, “This year’s theme is Our Shared Prosperity and is actually international in nature because we have the global audience here, people of all continents. “It is to tell everyone that there is need to bring the economics social and cultural prosperity into what we are doing so that our people will share”, the governor said. Otu said he is humbled to be celebrating about two decades of the Carnival Calabar and thanked former governors of the state for holding on to what former governor Doland Duke started. He also indicated that a new band called Diaspora Band may be added in future to cater to the people in the Diaspora. Also speaking, Gab Onah, the Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Commission said they have laboured since the start of the millennium to change the story and narrative of the state and they are beginning to see the fruits. He added that his year’s event is another testimonial of their humble effort to unite the world, give love, and help foster peaceful coexistence. Several dignitaries graced the flag off including the Cross River State Deputy Governor Peter Odey and Aisha Buhari, the wife of former president Muhammadu Buhari. Six bands comprising Freedom, Bayside, Passion 4, Seagull, Master Blasta, and Diamond Band are seeking to displace last year’s winner Calas Vagas in the fiesta.Olivia Hussey, star of the 1968 film 'Romeo and Juliet,' dies at 73

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler is determined to find the "right solution" for Evan Ferguson amid reports the striker could leave on loan during the January transfer window. Republic of Ireland international Ferguson has been restricted to just two Premier League starts for the Seagulls this season. The 20-year-old, who missed Friday evening's 0-0 draw with Brentford due to an ankle issue, has made a further 10 substitute appearances in the top flight, scoring once. Hurzeler insists he is "really happy" to have Ferguson at the Amex Stadium but suggested the player's future is being discussed. "At first, I think he needs to get back on the pitch," Hurzeler said of Ferguson ahead of Monday's trip to Aston Villa. "The rumours, I won’t discuss them in public. "I think it’s very important the player knows our idea, that we know the idea from the player and then it’s most important to be honest with each other, to find the right solution for the club and in the end also for the player. "I’m really happy that Evan is in our squad and I’m hoping that he will be back on the pitch as soon as possible." In Ferguson's absence, Brighton's winless run was stretched to six league matches by a frustrating stalemate against the Bees. Five of those results have come against teams in the bottom half of the division, with the Seagulls dropping from second spot to mid-table amid the poor run. Hurzeler, who has masterminded wins over Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City since succeeding Roberto De Zerbi in the summer, has mixed feelings about his first half a season in English football. "When we look at the games we had, for sure we should be disappointed because we have other ambitions," said the 31-year-old German. "We want to finish the games with different results. "But in the end we know that it will be a process, we had a lot of changes in the summer. We have a really, really young squad and therefore we have to give them time. "We know that a process is not always linear. You will do a process in waves and then you have to work hard for it and that’s why there are pros and cons where you can say there was a good half-season or a bad half-season. "We just try to focus on the process, try to improve, try to be more consistent in the way we get results and then I’m quite positive we will play a good second half of the season." Unai Emery's Villa sit only two points above Brighton as they balance domestic duties with their Champions League exploits. "They had also a tough period, now they are getting more and more back to shape," Hurzeler said of Villa. "They had some great games already in the Champions League, they have a clear style of play. "Emery has a big impact on Aston Villa’s philosophy, they have great individual players. "I heard a lot about the atmosphere there so it will be a great opportunity for us to improve and to show our identity."None

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is no stranger to the NFL coaching ranks, and the success that the Rebels are having has raised a question of Kiffin's future in college football. Kiffin first rose to prominence as an offensive assistant, and eventually offensive coordinator, with USC during the Trojan's national championship runs in 2003-04. Despite not having served as a head coach before, he became the youngest head coach (31) in Oakland Raiders franchise history in 2007. After a volatile and short tenure with the Raiders, Kiffin spent one season at the helm of the Tennessee Volunteers (2009) before returning to USC as head coach for four seasons (2010-13). After a 28-15 record with the Trojans, Kiffin was fired. One of the best play callers in the sport, Kiffin caught the eye of Alabama's Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide hired Kiffin to head the offense in 2014 and went on to win the 2015 national championship. Kiffin's run in Tuscaloosa resulted in another head coaching opportunity, this time at Florida Atlantic. Kiffin took the role with FAU in 2016 and led the Owls to a 27-15 record over three seasons, including two bowl wins. Petre Thomas-Imagn Images Though Kiffin's success as a play caller was undeniable, his resume as a head coach didn't truly take off until he arrived in Oxford in 2019. He led the Rebels to their first 11-win season in program history in 2023, and Ole Miss currently sits at No. 9 in the country with a College Football Playoff bid likely on the way. Kiffin, who signed a contract extension with Ole Miss last year that extends through 2029, joined Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd this week and addressed what his level of interest is at going back to the NFL. "You would be offered a job, absolutely," Cowherd said on "The Herd." "Why wouldn't you take it?" “This is really neat," Kiffin responded. "The way to build college teams now has become like the NFL. ... But you still have the really unique college elements of the fans, of the passion, the small towns. I really enjoy where we’re at. We’ve spent a lot of time to get it up to this place, that wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.” Kiffin will make $8.85 million in 2024 before that number grows to $9 million per year through 2029. He is one of the sport's top 10 highest-paid coaches. Ole Miss (8-2) will visit Florida (5-5) on Saturday before taking on rival Mississippi State (2-8) in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 29. The Rebels have a good chance at making the playoff field if they can win out.
