Africa Americas Europe Asia Oceania Middle EastThe new Queensland government’s contentious ‘adult crime, adult time’ laws to address teen crime have passed parliament, marking a major win for Premier David Crisafulli. Mr Crisafulli made teen crime a cornerstone of his campaign for the October 26 state election, promising the new laws would pass before Christmas. The landmark Making Queensland Safer Bill 2024 were introduced into parliament on November 28 and passed on Thursday, 13 days before Christmas. Mr Crisafulli had made no secret of his promise to crack down on high-profile youth crime and introduce “adult time for adult crime” during and after his campaign. Premier David Crisafulli had made the adult crime, adult time a key promise during the election campaign for the October 26 election. Picture: NewsWire / John Gass “These laws are for every Queenslander who has ever felt unsafe and been a victim of youth crime across our state,” Mr Crisafulli said on Thursday. “Queenslanders voted for it, we’ve delivered it and now Adult Crime, Adult Time will be law before Christmas. “These laws are the first strike back against the Youth Crime Crisis to start restoring safety where you live. “We have restored consequences for actions and put victims’ rights ahead of offenders, as they always should have been.” Under the new laws, juvenile offenders who commit some of the most serious crimes will now face the same penalties as adult offenders, with the state government promising to put “the rights of victims” ahead of offenders. It would mean children convicted of murder would face the penalty of life detention. Currently, they face 10 years or up to life imprisonment if a court finds the offence was “particularly heinous”. Premier David Crisafulli met with victims of crime before the Adult Time, Adult Crime Bill passed parliament. Picture: NewsWire / John Gass Victims of teen crime, including Chris Sanders (centre), had backed the LNP on the new laws. Picture: NewsWire / John Gass Other offences subject to the “adult crime, adult time” range include manslaughter, unlawful striking causing death, grievous bodily harm, wounding, serious assault, home and business break-ins and robbery and dangerous operation of vehicles. Detention as a last resort would also be removed from the Youth Justice Act. Mr Crisafulli previously told parliament the new laws would change how young offenders were sentenced. This would include allowing the courts to consider their full criminal history at sentencing – including their juvenile record – when they are sentenced as an adult for a five-year period. In 2023, Labor introduced a raft of changes following outcry over high-profile crimes involving young offenders, including the murder of North Lakes mum Emma Lovell. Emma Lovell was killed by a teenager in a home invasion in 2022. Picture: Supplied CCTV (blurred) of the home invasion where Emma Lovell was fatally stabbed. Picture: Supplied Under the changes, juveniles faced up to 14 years’ jail for stealing cars, with harsher penalties if they bragged about their crimes on social media. Then-premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said $9.89m would be fast-tracked for new sentencing programs in Brisbane, Townsville, Southport and Cairns so children spend “less time on remand and more time serving their sentences”. Youth Justice Minister Laura Gerber said the Making Queensland Safer Laws would work hand-in-hand with early intervention and rehabilitation. “Labor failed to act for a decade – they ignored victims, they ignored the warnings and ignored the chaos across Queensland,” Minister Gerber said. “Under Labor, youth criminals were given a free pass, the Crisafulli Government’s laws send a clear message that if you do the wrong thing, you will face the consequences. Goldman Sachs Asset Management Announces Liquidation of Three Exchange-Traded FundsStock Music Market to Grow by USD 650.4 Million from 2023-2028, Report on AI Redefining Market Landscape - Technavio

Dr Charlotte Proudman, who specialises in family law, had faced a Bar Standards Board (BSB) disciplinary tribunal over a 14-part Twitter thread criticising a judge’s ruling over a domestic abuse case, saying it echoed a “boys’ club”. However, the five charges against the 36-year-old were dropped on Thursday. In an interview with The Times, Dr Proudman described the position of Mark Neale, the board’s director-general, as “untenable” and said its chairwoman, Kathryn Stone, should also stand down. “They need a change, not just in those two individuals, though, because, of course, it seeps down to the rest of the organisation,” she said. She told the paper she “genuinely” wanted to work with the Bar Standards Board in helping them to understand how misogyny and sexism have impacted women at the bar. However, she said that “under the current leadership, it’s just not going to be possible”. The charges alleged Dr Proudman had “failed to act with integrity” in posting the tweets, that they amounted to professional misconduct, were “misleading” and “inaccurately reflected the findings of the judge” in the case. The women’s rights campaigner was also accused of behaving in a way “which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public placed in her and in the profession”, and that she “knowingly or recklessly misled or attempted to mislead the public” by making the posts. But panel chairman Nicholas Ainley found her tweets are protected under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998 and the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects the right of freedom of expression. He said her tweets did not “gravely damage” the judiciary, which would “put them outside” of Article 10 protection, even if they “might not have been pleasant for any judge to read” or even “hurtful”. “We take the view that the judiciary of England and Wales is far more robust than that,” he said. The panel also concluded that some of the tweets were only inaccurate “to a minor degree” and not to the extent necessary for a charge of a lack of integrity. Speaking after the hearing, Dr Proudman told the PA news agency: “This ruling is a victory for women’s rights and a right to freedom of speech. “The prosecution against me brought by my regulatory body, the Bar Standards Board, should never have happened and I said that from day one. “I criticised a domestic abuse judgment. Everyone should have the right to do that, whether you’re a barrister or not. Our justice system, which I strongly believe in, is robust enough to withstand criticism from me.” She believes her tweets help “foster confidence” in the justice system, adding: “Only that way can we go about building change and a better treatment for all victims, women and children and men who are affected by domestic abuse.” Explaining that the BSB appears to have spent almost £40,000 “of barristers’ money” on instructing counsel in her case, she added: “I think it’s shameful that they’re using our money to pay for, in my view, malicious, vexatious prosecutions which I have no doubt was a personal attack against me as a woman and as a feminist, as an outspoken critic and advocate for women’s rights.” Dr Proudman called for “systemic change” within the board. “They don’t understand gender, they don’t understand diversity, I don’t think they’ve ever heard of the concept misogyny and certainly not institutional misogyny,” she said. “Until they recognise the deeply rooted, entrenched issue of bullying, harassment, sexism at the bar, for which I have suffered relentlessly... and own up to it I don’t think we’re going to see any change and I have no confidence in them.” She told of how male barristers have called her insulting names on social media and made derogatory comments about her. In the posts on April 6 2022, Dr Proudman referenced a case in which her client alleged she had been subjected to coercive and controlling behaviour by her husband, a part-time judge, meaning she had been “unable to freely enter” the couple’s “post-nuptial” financial agreement. Commenting on the ruling by Family Court judge Sir Jonathan Cohen, Dr Proudman wrote: “I represented Amanda Traharne. “She said she was coerced into signing a post-nuptial agreement by her husband (who is a part-time judge). I lost the case. “I do not accept the Judge’s reasoning. I will never accept the minimisation of domestic abuse.” She continued: “Demeaning the significance of domestic abuse has the affect of silencing victims and rendering perpetrators invisible. “This judgement has echoes of (t)he ‘boys club’ which still exists among men in powerful positions.” In the thread, Dr Proudman wrote that the judge had described the relationship of the couple as “tempestuous”, which she argued was a “trivialisation” of domestic abuse. “Tempestuous? Lose his temper? Isn’t this the trivialisation of domestic abuse & gendered language. This is not normal married life,” she wrote.Shares of KeyCorp .css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link{-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;color:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);border-bottom:1px solid;border-bottom-color:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);}.css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link.css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);}.css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link:hover{-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;color:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);border-bottom:1px solid;border-bottom-color:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);}.css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link:hover.css-8459s-OverridedLink.css-8459s-OverridedLink:any-link:hover svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);} .css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink{display:inline;color:var(--color-interactiveLink010);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;}@media screen and (prefers-reduced-motion: no-preference){.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink{transition-property:color,fill;transition-duration:200ms,200ms;transition-timing-function:cubic-bezier(0, 0, .5, 1),cubic-bezier(0, 0, .5, 1);}}@media screen and (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce){.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink{transition-property:color,fill;transition-duration:0ms;transition-timing-function:cubic-bezier(0, 0, .5, 1),cubic-bezier(0, 0, .5, 1);}}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink010);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:hover:not(:disabled){color:var(--color-interactiveLink020);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:hover:not(:disabled) svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink020);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:active:not(:disabled){color:var(--color-interactiveLink030);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:active:not(:disabled) svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink030);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:visited:not(:disabled){color:var(--color-interactiveVisited010);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:visited:not(:disabled) svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveVisited010);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:visited:hover:not(:disabled){color:var(--color-interactiveVisited010);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:visited:hover:not(:disabled) svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveVisited010);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:focus-visible:not(:disabled){outline-color:var(--outlineColorDefault);outline-style:var(--outlineStyleDefault);outline-width:var(--outlineWidthDefault);outline-offset:var(--outlineOffsetDefault);}@media not all and (min-resolution: 0.001dpcm){@supports (-webkit-appearance: none) and (stroke-color: transparent){.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:focus-visible:not(:disabled){outline-style:var(--safariOutlineStyleDefault);}}}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link{-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;color:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);border-bottom:1px solid;border-bottom-color:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink010, interactiveLink010);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link:hover{-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;color:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);border-bottom:1px solid;border-bottom-color:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);}.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link:hover.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink.css-1y1y9ag-OverridedLink:any-link:hover svg{fill:var(--color-interactiveLink020, interactiveLink020);} KEY inched 0.12% higher to $17.39 Thursday, on what proved to be an all-around mixed trading session for the stock market, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 0.07% to 43,325.80 and the S&P 500 Index SPX falling 0.04% to 6,037.59. A L'Oreal *eight-second* lamellar water rinse-out treatment reviewers swear by for next-level shine, softness, and just all-around "is THIS my hair?!"–ness. Shine in a silicone-free product?! Dreams really do come true. Reviewers with everything from stick straight to 4C curls love this product. Promising review: "I don’t usually do reviews on products, but for this one I absolutely have to. I have 3c type hair and struggle with a lot a breakage, unmanageability, and moisture. When my mom mentioned this product to me I didn’t take her seriously because of the simple fact that we have two completely different hair textures. I never would of thought this brand would work on my hair. I have always used ethnic hair products and stayed away from brands such as this one because of the alcohol consumption. I have never in my 22 years felt my hair like this. I feel like I have a completely different head of hair. This product is so amazing and I will FOREVER be using this product in my hair regimen. Thank you so much!! ♥️" — Theressa Hailey Get it from Amazon for $10.97 . 2. A fan-favorite Wet brush with a cult following for a reason. It'll detangle even the most stubborn knots...WITHOUT ripping hair from your scalp. Promising review: "I am that girl who wakes up in the morning with a HUGE knot in the back of my head! I DREAD getting out of the shower, with a wide tooth comb and painfully brushing out my hair. It takes about 15-20 minutes! With this new brush, at first I couldn't believe it was actually brushing my hair (no pain) by the end of a few minutes, ALL of my knots were gone and my hair felt silky and smooth! WOW! Thank you Wetbrush!" — Chrissy Get it from Amazon for $8.94+ (available in 21 colors and patterns). 3. Promising review: "Here's the deal, I'm pretty much a tomboy, I don't know how to do my makeup, I have thick hair, but never knew how to do anything but straighten it, until a friend made me try her Kiss automatic curling iron. It legitimately works and it's the easiest thing to use! I've (briefly) tried other wands and burn myself over and over. I've never burned myself with this tool and I love that it makes it easy to curl away from your face on either side, with just a push of a button. I also like that it dings when it's done, so it takes some guess work out . If you want curls, but are intimidated by all the tools out there, you won't be disappointed with this styler." — Uskadelig Get it from Amazon for $49.99 . 5. My hair is super long and it never does anything but awkwardly bend because it’s super poker straight! I have to have curlers in overnight to get any curl to stick and these are super comfortable to sleep in! My curls were amazing!! Finally an adorable spiral curl! What’s even better is the second day they STILL looked beautiful! I cannot rant and rave enough about how Awesome these are!" — Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $12.99 . 6. Each set comes with a curling rod and two hair scrunchies. These work best if you roll them with damp hair! Promising review: "I have genuinely never written an Amazon review, but this has made my life so much easier . Can’t say enough good things about this product! It really is the little things in life that just make it more pleasant and this is one of them. I have naturally kinda curly/wavy hair, so not sure if that matters, but it typically takes me so long to style my hair to get my curls to look the way I want them to. The first time I used it I was trying to figure out what to do for my hair for a photo shoot, so I just put this on the night before and I swear I woke up with my hair photo ready!! I was blown away and couldn’t stop staring at my hair. I now use this almost every time after I wash my hair then sleep in it and the curls stay until I wash my hair again days later. Definitely recommend doing it with damp hair and upon taking it out, I put in a serum or curl cream, just to eliminate some frizz from where I slept on it. So worth the price!! Promise you won’t regret it!" — Lexie Get it from Amazon for $12.68 (available in 11 colors/patterns). But there is something with this oil combination that makes a big difference in my hair. Even though it's an oil it makes my hair feel so hydrated, I can't explain it. It just works. I buy three bottles at a time now. " — Candice K. Get it from Kinky Tresses for $13.99 or from Amazon for $19.99 . I normally have a salon keratin treatment every couple of months to keep my hair smooth and shiny, but I’m badly overdue right now. Well...dang! This product is nothing short of amazing! Yes, after being outside in the humidity for a period of time, those frizzies do start popping up again (let’s be realistic!)... HOWEVER, all I need do is run the brush through my hair again to re-activate the product and it’s smooth sailing once again; re-applying is not necessary ! I am LIVING PROOF that this is a revolutionary product. Ha Ha. A pack of virtually unbreakable hair ties specifically designed for long, thick, and/or curly hair. No slipping, no stretching out, and no damage to your strands. Promising review: "Okay, I never write reviews for things, but I can't not write a review for these. I know, I know, it's just a hair tie. But it's not just a hair tie! I don't have super thick hair and it's by no means curly, but these hair ties are perfect! I'm a runner and always put my hair in a high-ish ponytail for my runs. With every other hair tie I've gotten in the past, my ponytail ends up a lot lower than where I started with it. Not so with these! I put my hair up nice and high and it stayed nice and high! It's the little things in life." — KL Promising review: "These are a godsend. I have thick natural hair between 4b/c that comes right underneath my chin when stretched. Finding a band that doesn’t break when I divide my hair into fours or twos is difficult; this one does just the trick and it doesn’t pull too much out either. I’ll probably buy another pack because I lose hair bands like socks!" — Cadie Get a pack of 20 from Amazon for $6.99 . 10. Use every few washes, and your products will work better . It's also available in a fragrance-free version ! Promising review: "I work outside and color my hair weekly with a color depositing conditioner, so once a week I need a clarifier to get all the salt and product out of my hair. This is SO much better than the salon stuff I had been using. It's gentle, but effective and doesn't leave my hair feeling totally stripped. It also has a nice aroma. Stop buying the overpriced stuff from the salon and try this instead. Your hair will thank you. " — Teddy Promising review: "Great for 4C hair! I always use a clarifying shampoo before I install any type of box braids. I used this today and it was incredible. I used it scalp to tip and my hair was still very moisturized. The scent is also great. It’s not too overwhelming to point where you can get nose bleeds. And a little goes a very long way. I still have enough shampoo to last probably the whole year because I used so little. " — Ejiro Promising review: "I originally bought this product for a client of mine with locs to help with build up, but I've found it works well for my natural 3C hair as well. I use a lot of gels and oils and after a few days, it starts to really pile up. This shampoo is sulfate-free, which is awesome for all hair! I follow up with conditioners, but it doesn't leave my hair or scalp feeling stripped — just clean. I also recommend this to anyone who has dandruff as well." — Bridget Get it from Amazon for $13.08 . 12. An Elizavecca collagen-infused ~protein treatment~ for an intense at-home mask that'll help your strands look and feel less damaged in just five minutes. It's basically a time machine for your hair is what I'm saying. This is the same brand that makes the Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask so many people swear by. Promising review: "I've been very careful when lightening my hair, but the straw feeling is sometimes inevitable when bleached. THIS PRODUCT IS MAGIC. I've always gone to my hairdresser when coloring so I've been fortunate to have my hair stay pretty nice but this made a world of a difference. My hair is like silk, or soft butter. So incredibly soft and shiny, I feel like a walking hair commercial. My hair feels so moisturized and healthy, just as soft if not softer than my hair was prior to coloring (been highlighting for 5 years now). Will be buying more before I run out, I will never stop using this product. FYI my natural color is the dark brown at the roots and my hair looks healthier than a natural blonde IMO :) ADD TO YOUR CART YOU WONT REGRET. After you shampoo, load your hair up and do the rest of your shower, heck have it be a long shower bc you deserve it, and rinse out with lukewarm water." — Meghan Davey Promising review: "I have 4C hair and was looking for a protein treatment for my thin and fragile. I had recently used a product in my hair that had so much alcohol in it; that wreaked havoc on my hair, leaving it pretty damaged. I was very skeptical about this product because I have never seen anyone with my hair type use it. Boy was I wrong to doubt this product, it left my hair looking and feeling beautiful . I highly recommend it to anyone natural or with curly hair." — Therese-Claire Get it from Amazon for $8.40 . Both of us girls have long and thick curly hair, and it allows us to brush through our hair with no problems! And my son mostly uses it to style his hair before gel, and because it smells so good! We tried a few products from Walmart, Ulta, and Target, and nothing was good enough. This is now on my Subscribe & Save every month! " — Tamira McLelland Get it from Amazon for $8.50 (also available in multipacks). 15. A Shea Moisture manuka honey mask packed with powerful ingredients like mafura oil, shea butter, baobab oil, African rock fig, and honey (duh!) to lock in moisture and definition. Promising review: "Better than the expensive K18 and Olaplex. I recently spent $70 on a hair mask; because my hair has been in need of some love. I won’t name it because I don’t think I can but I thought it’s 70 bucks so it must be good. It was NOT. I didn’t hate it but it didn’t do much for me. So I thought screw it let me try something more natural and drugstore. I saw the good reviews on this so I thought, “why not?” And now I have my new favorite hair mask. So moisturizing. Makes my hair so soft. It’s VERY thick. But that’s what I wanted. If you’re looking for deep Hydration, look no further." — Kirstin Promising review: " I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to because I love this conditioner so much. I have EXTREMELY dry 4c hair. It's very picky with products. After getting to know my hair, I noticed that my hair only like products that get absorbed into the hair right away. If it leaves a coating over it, then my hair is not going to like it. It might even feel super soft for a day, but then it get extremely dry after. Even though this product is super thick (so thick that the cream stays in the jar when you flip it upside down), my hair absorbs everything and it stays super moisturized for 2-3 days after. I used this on my hair about 2 days ago. Today, I touched my hair expecting it to feel dry like always, but it felt like I just moisturized it. MIND BLOWN. It also smells AMAZING. It smells more like a fruity, sweet, and creamy perfume fragrance rather than a hair conditioner. It almost reminds me of Mon Guerlain. Literally the nicest smelling hair product I've ever used. 10/10" — Khady Ndiaye Get it from Amazon for $12.22 . 16. Promising review: "Perfect for people with long, thick hair. My daughter is a competitive dancer with long, thick hair. Ponytail stayed in place for her entire dance!" — JKash Get a set of 10 from Amazon for $4.79 . 21. A Revlon one-step hair-drying paddle brush that'll detangle, dry, smooth, and blow out curly hair (including type 4 curls and coils) in way less time than you might think. It has two heat settings, plus a cool setting so you can customize it to your hair type. Promising review: "I'm a stylist of nine years, and I've straightened many heads in my lifetime. I NEEDED THIS NINE YEARS AGO! OMG, I use it prior to performing full blowouts on clients and it helps tremendously, especially for finicky children and teens. It's great for all hair textures." — Vett Garcia Promising review: "Worth the coins! Don't think, just buy lol. I typically blow out my natural 4b hair maybe three times a year. I usually use the tension method which is okay but it just doesn't get my hair straight enough. I used the Revlon paddle dryer on the low setting and was shook at how stretched my hair was! I didn't blow dry it on soaking wet hair but washed my hair the night before, let it air dry in four sections then blow dried it the next morning. I'm so happy I bought this! P.S my curls reverted back just fine , I didn't have any heat damage." — Estella Get it from Amazon for $35.38 . 22. Or the Revlon One-Step Hot Air Brush (now with an upgraded motor) with a unique oval-shaped barrel so you can get super close to your scalp for smooth hair and majorly boosted volume at the roots, without having to juggle a brush and blow-dryer. One reviewer says it takes less time to dry than their Dry Bar Brush ! Promising review: "Works on 4C hair. I have thick, coarse, kinky, and long hair. Which essentially means my hair was built to destroy most hair tools available. I had given up on blow drying my hair independently years ago because it was too much of a hassle to go to a salon, and it was too difficult for me to do alone trying to juggle the blow dryer and whatever wand/brush I would try to use at the time to grip my hair when all I’d end up doing is break them. This tool has been a godsend, for the first time ever I’ve been able to blow dry my hair on my own! I really only blow dry my hair so that I can braid it and put it in other protective styles, and this tool is perfect for just that!" — Anla Promising review: "Where have you been all my life? Omg this dryer was AMAZING!!!!! I don’t understand why I didn’t know about it sooner!!!! My hair is thick and curly and hard to control. Usually I need to air dry for at least an hour, then it’s 45 min to blow it out. Usually resulting in my arms being exhausted and my hair burned. BEST DRYER EVER! And I have spent $$ on a dry bar dryer. Never again. I need to buy a back up just in case. LOVE" — Brian Halpin Get it from Amazon for $33.58+ at Amazon (available in five colors). 23. A canister of fan-favorite Batiste dry shampoo (and this version's ~barely~ fragranced) to add the perfect amount of texture and body to your day(s)-old hair and make oily, flat roots disappear. Batiste dry shampoo comes in several varieties, but this one is barely fragranced , with hints of citrus, leafy greens, and vanilla that won't compete with your perfume (or give you a headache). Promising review: "Actually love this dry shampoo, some other brands make my hair feel sticky like I just put a lot of hairspray in but this one truly makes you feel clean and refreshed and lightweight again!" — Megan Promising review: "I had a bottle of the original Batiste before this and didn't like how strong the fragrance was, so I'm glad I found this instead. There is still some fragrance but it's extremely light and pleasant , and doesn't linger after you spray it. This bottle is also a pretty large size so it will last me a long time." — Helen Get it from Amazon for $12.33 . 24. Or I Dew Care's dry shampoo powder , which comes packaged in an easy-to-apply, perfect-for-travel powder puff applicator you just tap-tap-tap onto your hair. Just massage the ultra-fine powder into your roots (it's formulated with black ginseng and biotin btw!) and it'll quickly absorb excess oil, leaving you with volumized and refreshed-looking hair. Promising review: "I’ve tried a few dry shampoos, from the spray in a bottle to powder. And I’d have to say this one has been my favorite. My very first time using it, I didn’t know how much to put and ended up coating my hair by A LOT. It left my hair feeling very dry and straw-like. I almost returned and got a refund but decided to give it another chance. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. Trust me. You only need a few dabs on your head and that’s it. You can see the extra volume almost instantly. This stuff works sooo well that I wake up on my third unwashed hair day and it looks better than the second day when I used the dry shampoo. And let’s not forget to mention how convenient and compact the whole thing is. It’s so nice to just pat it on your head with no mess." — Thuy Get it from Amazon for $18 . 25. Not only does it feel *great*, but it also helps maintain the health of your scalp, boosting circulation and removing buildup. Promising review: "I love this massager. Feels just as good as going to the salon." — T. LEE-QUIGLEY Get it from Amazon for $7.45 (available in five colors). 26. The super viral Wavytalk curling iron/brush set , which comes with five attachments, including the much buzzed-about heated curling brush with bristles that'll leave you with a salon-worthy look in just minutes. While this is often compared to the Revlon one-step , note that that is a hair dryer (and blows air) — this is a curling iron, so it just heats up for styling hair rather than drying it! It also comes with two styling clips and a protective glove, btw! Promising review: "I love this hair tool, especially for its affordability! I bought it mostly for the round brush, but love that it comes with four other attachments as well. The thermal round brush works very well and makes achieving a blow out look so simple/quick! I have a blowdryer round brush as well but hate how loud it is, how long it takes, and how I am sweating by the end of it. This is a nice alternative and also easy to pack when traveling abroad!" — Kelsie M Get it from Amazon for $47.99 (available in three colors and five types of sets). 27. A bottle of Fanola purple shampoo formulated to neutralize yellow tones and brassiness for platinum locks — all in one to three minutes . If you leave it in long enough, it'll even give a lavender tint, if you're into that! Promising review : "I'm not one to leave reviews, but this product deserves it! Holy cow! I was going to go into the salon to brighten my hair up, but after discovering this product I cancelled my appointment. I'm totally in love! This stuff goes in and stays until you’re ready for it to come out. Whether I’m doing straight volume or curly volume, this is my go to product! I’m on my 3rd bottle for this year. That’s how much I use it over everything else! It also has some component that dries the oil so I don’t need dry shampoo on non-wash days. Can I say more?" — W Get it from Amazon for $36 . 29. A pack of Kitsch satin scrunchies that'll work just like a satin pillowcase — but on the go — to fight frizz, breakage, and other hair damage. Reader, I love these scrunchies for my curly-frizzy-coarse and dry dry dry hair. I travel in them, sleep in them EVERY NIGHT, and I even wear them out when my hair is dirty and it's ~low bun time~ to dress it up a bit. I have absolutely noticed a reduction in breakage and the strands that cascade to the floor when I take my hair down in the morning for styling. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option to just add a little TLC to your hair care, I absolutely recommend these bbs. Promising review: "Exactly what I was looking for! I was having problems with other hair ties pulling my hair out, but these do not do that at all!! They are still loose enough not to pull but tight enough to hold my hair. I have super, super thick hair, and it has no problem holding it up without slipping out or anything. This brand is honestly amazing. The silk is really nice and stays clean, and when I put them through the washer and dryer, they come out perfect, just like new. I've had them for nine months, and they have been through the washer and dryer, lived in the bottom of my purse, on the car floor, been in the lake, everywhere, and they are still just like new. They truly are amazing." — Nathan and Alexis Bealor Get a pack of five from Amazon for $6.99 (available in five color varieties, plus other styles). Just a light dusting and you’re ready to go!" — K. Hocker Promising review: "I have very fine hair and my style falls out easily. This is one of the best hairsprays that I have used to keep my style, especially when it is humid out. (The other ones I've used cost 2 to 3 times as much as this one, so I got a subscription so I can always have it in stock!)" — EAC Get it from Amazon for $8.52 . 32. A deep-conditioning Tonymoly hair pack chock-full of vitamins, nutritious oils, and shea butter to make your hair softer than ever. Big Ed from 90 Day Fiancé , please use this instead of *actual* mayo. If you're not a mayo fan, don't worry — this one actually smells like vanilla and macadamia nuts. Promising review: "I purchased this after reading the reviews on here. I recently had my already double-processed and highlighted hair highlighted again, and the colorist way over-processed (the colorist did a terrible job) and bleached it blonde, and it was so damaged and dry. I was practically crying . I was looking online to find a mask to help my poor hair recover. I have to say I've used so many different products, and none have given instant results the way this has. I used a clarifying shampoo to try to get rid of some of the leftover color and then used this hair pack. I thought it smelled lovely, like vanilla! Left it on for five minutes and my hair was so much better. I tried it again a week later and my hair keeps getting softer and more manageable. I would highly recommend this if you have damaged, dry hair." — GP Get it from Amazon $21.85 . 33. A Color Wow powder and brush combo to cover your grown-in roots instantly and/or make your hair look fuller at your part or hairline — and it'll last until you shampoo it out! Promising review: "I didn't think something that looked like eyeshadow would do much. But it works beautifully! I can wear my hair back and feel confident that my hair looks naturally dark through and through. The best part (besides that it really works)? It stays on! I have been to the pool and come home with my hair still covered. I can only wash my hair about every other day. The roots are covered from the time I initially out on the product until I wash it out with ease with regular shampoo in the shower. Love this stuff!" — dkl1992 Get it from Amazon for $34.50 (available in eight colors). 34. Wonder Curl's Get Set Jelly with aloe leaf juice and pro-vitamin B5 to define curls and coils and protect them from humidity, so they stay fresh and defined all day (and for days after). Promising review: "I was recently introduced to this gel during my very first appointment at a salon that specializes in curly hair. In all honesty, I had given up on using hair gel to define my curls during the early stages of my natural hair journey because the gel available in most stores would either flake horribly or make your hair sticky or hard. They were terrible. Not this gel. It's truly wonderful. It will do what you ask it to do without the flaking, stickiness, or hardness. I have basically a 4A curl pattern and it does a great job of defining my curls. I typically wear a wash and go and it lasts until I wash my hair again. My curls are defined even after my hair gets smushed overnight due to the bonnet. I typically use homemade shea butter to stretch my hair out again. No more struggle with my hair before I have to go to work." — Angela Taylor Get it from Wonder Curl for $22 (also available in a mini size). A bottle of Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo formulated with 1% ketoconazole that doesn't just banish annoying flakes, but actually works to kill the fungus that causes dandruff. You can use it just twice a week, too! Learn more about ketoconazole shampoos and other dandruff shampoos at the Mayo Clinic . Promising review: "Stop looking around. This is magic! Got rid of my dandruff long time problem in a week. You see amazing results the first time you use this." — Carlos Montalva Promising review: "This fixed my dandruff almost immediately. I have tried different dandruff shampoos and hair care routines for YEARS without any success. I've used cleansing shampoos and hair oils, minimized any heat used on my hair, changed my diet, switched up shampoos frequently, used a scalp scrubbing tool, and tried going multiple days without washing my hair...and yet, I still struggled with dandruff and itchy scalp. The itching was unbearable. I decided to give Nizoral a try as a last-ditch effort, and my god, it has completely CHANGED my life. I am no longer itchy and I have virtually zero flakes still left on my hair. I wash my hair every 2-3 days and do not struggle with the same issues I used to. The scent is fine for me — it's a "clean" scent, so I don't mind it. I did not notice any drying of my hair. I used it every wash for a few weeks (the bottle says eight weeks), and now I just use it as needed. Probably every 5-6 washes. I hope you have as much success as I did with this product!" — Jenn Get it from Amazon for $14.28 . 36. I'm going to buy a vat of this stuff and swim around in it! Really worth it." — Jana Get it from Amazon for $42 . Btw, Briogeo is a Black woman-founded brand! 37. A tourmaline deep waver hot tool to create everything from 1920s-style finger waves to perfectly undone mermaid hair in no time flat. Promising review: "Yes! Finally...a no-skill-required remedy for my curl/wave envy. I've tried it all...the hot roller curls don't last and take forever, the overnight rollers keep me from resting comfortably, the wet braids looked terrible, the wet bun caused a lot of breakage and still looked dumb, the curling iron was always awkward for me and the 'curls' wouldn't last. All of my trials and errors eventually led me to this product. I did half my hair on my first run in about 1.5 mins. They are set...not coming undone even with brushing. I'm so excited to finally be able to pull off this hairstyle. No regrets! These waves stood strong through an eight-hour work shift, plus the snowy highway winds from getting a flat tire on the way to work. BOOM! Miracle. " — Vanessa Promising review: "For all hair textures. I was wondering if I ordered this would it work on bundle extensions and I was correct. It provides a soft or deep wave as desired." — Tiffany Douglas Get it from Amazon for $23.03 . 38. Big Sexy Hair's weightless volumizing and texturizing powder that'll go on translucent for the bigger-than-ever hair of your dreams. It's also great for beefing up braids! Promising review: "A magical hair volumizer for those who have lost hope. I have always been frustrated with my hair weighing down around the crown, even if I could get some body into it in the morning, guaranteed it was flat by mid-day. This stuff is amazing! I just sprinkle a tiny bit around my roots/crown and it lasts all day and into the next. It's like a dry magic gel! Love this stuff and my 'new' hairstyle capabilities. The container is super tiny (think height of a cell phone) but a little goes a LONG way. It makes skipping washing hair that much easier for those of us with non-volumized hair/roots." — Jennifer Cibor Get it from Amazon for $21.95 (also available in a two-pack). 39. A diffuser attachment with three adjustable air volumes and a deep bowl design to gently gather your curls and waves, drying them in their natural pattern, reducing frizz, and increasing definition AND shine. I've searched everywhere for a diffuser that's big and will work right on my hair. I washed my hair, used my products, then the blow dryer. My curls were so defined and popping! I will recommend this to anyone!" – M.D Get it from Amazon for $17.54+ (available in six colors). 40. Olaplex 3, a strengthening, re-bonding for your color-treated or heat damaged locks, making them healthier than ever before. This is a game-changer, folks. Promising review: "MAGIC!!!! I swear this stuff is made from unicorns. I was doubtful, given that I have tried the gamut of hair conditioning treatments (yes, yes, I know this is NOT a conditioner, but a bonder) and all I have to say is WOWZA! After some really harsh processing (got my hair from dark dark brown to very very blonde so I could add funky colors (currently pink), my hair more closely resembled hay than it did actual hair and as the weeks went on, the breakage started getting worse. I tried this at my last feeble attempt to salvage my locks after a friend recommended it and I am BLOWN AWAY by the results! It really does work. I won't lie and tell you my hair is back to it's normal state, but it is SIGNIFICANTLY improved. It is smoother, softer, and even has some of the weight back! This was just after one application (I left it in for an hour as the website suggested for my level of damage). I can't wait to see if it gets better with the next application. I am definitely sold." — shel.b.phd Promising review: I used this product with the leatherwood brush I HAVE NEVER SEEN MY 4B CURLS POP THIS WAY (now to keep it in that state) but my hair is smooth, moisturized....amazing product...no conditioner, hot oil treatment, does what this product does. This is a bond builder. Vital for tight coils 4B,4C fine strand hair...try it PLEASE." — LAValentine Get it from Amazon for $30 (also available in bundles with other Olaplex products). 41. An argan oil–infused cream gel that'll define curls and add hold (*without* the dreaded crunchiness). It'll help fight frizz so your hair can bounce along healthily behind you, whether you have anything from loose waves to tight spirals — and it's safe on colored hair! Promising review: "This is my favorite styling product now. It doesn't get flaky or hard and leaves my curls looking healthy and shiny! The bounce is wild, the best I've seen with a styling cream/gel! The consistency is more gel like than cream but is not at all like the gels of other competition. Pics are of before started using the cream gel and after... you can see the difference in my curls (I also cut my own hair)." — Mia Randall Get it from Amazon for $8.99 . 42. A satin pillowcase to help maintain hair health even as you sleep, reducing pesky frizz and breakage when compared with regular cotton or other fiber pillowcases — that means longer-lasting blowouts and less damage in the long run. This is my go-to satin pillowcase. I have two Slip pillowcases, and several of these, and actually the Bedsure ones wash up much nicer and retain an incredibly silky smooth feel after dozens of trips through the laundry. They're the only ones I'll buy going forward, and I recommended them to my mom and now she's in love with them too! Promising review: "Life-changing! I was originally looking for silk pillow cases, but decided to give these a try because they were a better price. I am not disappointed! I have seen a noticeable difference in my hair in the mornings and overall they are so smooth and comfortable to sleep on. I’ve washed them several times and haven’t seen a difference in the quality. I would buy again." — Kate Get a set of two from Amazon for $6.49+ (available in four sizes and 35 colors and patterns). 43. A TikTok-famous honey-infused Gisou hair oil reviewers with all hair types love for the added moisture and shine — without that greasy, weighed down look and feel. If you haven't incorporated a hair oil into your routine yet, this is your sign. Promising review: “This hair oil does EVERYTHING it says it does. Not only does it leave a great shine to your hair, but it also doesn’t weight it down at all. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I have noticed that my hair is drastically more shiny and less brittle looking. Also, the scent is absolutely divine and it does linger but don’t worry, it is not an overwhelming scent. For reference, I have thick 3b-3c curly hair. P.S., the packaging is super beautiful so this product is a win-win!" — MariahSantiago Get it from Sephora for $46 (also available in a mini ($25) and value ($87) size). 44. A set of sponge rollers for adding (heat-free!) curls and volume to your hair. Wanting to try some of those vintage hair sets you've seen on TikTok? These are a great way to start. I have these foam rollers and they're really great! The clips stay in my hair, even while sleeping (not the most comfortable way to sleep, but here we are), and the results lasted for days! If you're new to rollers, I recommend rolling in sections right down your center part (as the reviewer does above), and then curling the sides by section — just make sure you're rolling underneath the hair. And the curls will be tighter than you want when you take them out! Just finger detangle or brush through to achieve that softer, vintage-inspired look. Promising review: "I've always had bad experiences with foam rollers in the past. I don't know what makes these ones different, but they stay in your hair, don't take long to dry, and give you long-lasting curls! I'm in love with them. I use about 12 at a time to curl my hair, spray a setting lotion, and either let them stay in overnight while I sleep or I sit under my hooded dryer for 10 minutes." — Katrina Holte Get the set of 36 rollers from Amazon for $9.99 (available in three colors, plus a larger size). Get Taylor Swift’s Skinny Jeans from Latest Chiefs Game With a Discount Code!MUMBAI: GQG Partners , a major foreign investor in the Adani group companies, has initiated defensive measures to safeguard its share price following the fallout from a US investigation into the Ahmedabad-based conglomerate. The Sydney-listed fund initiated a $65 million share buyback programme, citing the potential presented by the significant drop in its stock value. GQG's shares fell 19% on Nov 21 after US authorities' allegations that the Adani group deceived investors by concealing its participation in a $265-million bribery scheme aimed at securing profitable business contracts in India. US-based GQG - established by India-born Rajiv Jain and Tim Carver in June 2016 - holds investments of $4.5 billion (Rs 41,330 crore) in the Adani group companies. Its shares showed partial recovery on Friday, closing 4% higher on Australia's ASX exchange following the share repurchase announcement. At 2.2 Australian dollar, the stock remains 16% below Wednesday's closing price. GQG's current market value stands at about $77 million. "We believe our stock is undervalued and this is a great investment opportunity," GQG chief executive Tim Carver said. "We have a strong balance sheet and GQG believes in the strength of its business. We're happy to buy our stock at these values," Carver said. GQG became a significant investor in Adani group companies after their stock fell in March 2023. It invested Rs 15,446 crore ($1.87 billion) in four Adani group companies - Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Adani Green and Adani Energy Solutions - as the conglomerate sought recovery following the Hindenburg Research report's release in Jan 2023. The fund currently holds positions in six Adani group companies, with stakes between 2% and 5%. On Thursday, it disclosed that less than 10% of its clients' assets are exposed to the Adani group following the US bribery allegations. Vance takes on a more visible transition role, working to boost Trump’s most contentious picks

The new Queensland government’s contentious ‘adult crime, adult time’ laws to address teen crime have passed parliament, marking a major win for Premier David Crisafulli. Michigan tight end Colston Loveland , the No. 13 player on Dane Brugler’s big board , has declared for the NFL Draft, joining teammates Mason Graham and Will Johnson . Loveland announced his decision Friday on social media . Though Michigan struggled in the passing game during a 7-5 regular season, Loveland was one of Michigan’s bright spots. He finished his junior season with 56 receptions, a school record for a tight end, 582 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Advertisement Loveland, an unheralded prospect from Gooding, Idaho, earned playing time as a freshman and was one of the key players in Michigan’s national championship season as a sophomore. The 6-foot-5 Loveland’s fluidity as a route runner made him one of the top tight end prospects in college football and a potential top-15 pick. “If he’s not ready to go play in the NFL , I don’t know who would be,” tight ends coach Steve Casula said earlier this season. “He’s outstanding. When you compare his movement skills, his athleticism, ball skills, all that stuff, (you can) compare him against NFL players right now.” Loveland became the third Michigan junior to declare for the draft, joining Johnson and Graham, two other potential first-round picks. Loveland didn’t address the ReliaQuest Bowl in his announcement but the mid-December draft declarations indicate the Wolverines will be without some of their top players when they face Alabama on Dec. 31. Loveland and Johnson were recovering from injuries, and neither played in Michigan’s season-ending upset of Ohio State . Analyzing Loveland’s draft stock In terms of pure receiver ability, Loveland is the best tight end in the 2025 NFL Draft class. His route nuance, ball skills, hand reliability and toughness at the catch point was simply more consistent over a longer period of time than Penn State stud Tyler Warren or anyone else. In just about every area, Loveland has first-round traits as a big, bendy target with speed and an ability to adjust in the air. As a blocker, Loveland was often the spread tight end during Michigan’s national title run with former tight end A.J. Barner occupying much of the inline responsibility. Loveland is a solid inline blocker, he’s not an elite one. In fact, some NFL teams may wind up preferring Warren – a more powerful and, frankly, bigger athlete – over Loveland simply based on this. He also missed the Ohio State game, his last in the series, with a shoulder injury. At the same time, he’s easily a top-20 talent in this draft. Whether or not he winds up in the top 20 — or completely locked into the first round in a weird year — remains to be seen. #Michigan TE Colston Loveland lined up all over the place as usual Saturday night. The scandal, involving some Liberal Democratic Party lawmakers failing to properly report income from fundraising parties, eroded public trust in politics, leading the ruling coalition to lose its majority in the House of Representatives in the Oct 27 election. While Ishiba has remained in power, he faces significant challenges, as he must seek opposition support to pass budgets and bills while unifying and rebuilding the party ahead of the upper house election scheduled for the summer of 2025. Ishiba's remarks came as 27 members who belonged to a powerful faction previously led by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have expressed willingness to testify before the upper house ethics committee over the scandal, signaling a shift in their stance. Of that total, 15 members will draw particular attention, as the others are not up for reelection this time. In Japan, half of the 248-member upper house is replaced every three years and the chamber is currently controlled by the ruling coalition. To decide whether to endorse scandal-hit members in the October election, the LDP considered factors such as whether they had fulfilled their accountability by attending the political ethics committee, or the types of intraparty punishments they had received. Party heavyweights with close ties to Abe, including former education minister Koichi Hagiuda and industry minister Yasutoshi Nishimura, ran as independents but joined the LDP-related group in the lower house after the election. Opposition lawmakers are expected to intensify their criticism of Ishiba during the current extraordinary Diet session, which will end later this month, and the regular session from January. Yuichiro Tamaki, leader of the Democratic Party for the People, said at a press conference, "Even if the lawmakers in question attend the political ethics committee, this does not mean everything will be fine afterward." The LDP and Komeito have been exploring policy cooperation with Tamaki's party.
